“Every Branch that Bears Fruit” by Greg Chandler
Apr 06, 11:46 PM
For the entirety of human history, agriculture has played an essential role in survival. Because of this close association, the Bible often uses illustrations from the agricultural world to make spiritual application; Jesus’ final conversation with His apostles is no exception. As He delivered His expectations to them a final time, He stated, “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit, He takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit, He cleans, that it may bear more fruit” (John 15:1-2). This message will focus on what this meant to the apostles as well as its implications and expectations for Christians of all times.
