RadioStPete INSIDER news director Nanette Wiser caught up with writer, speaker and inspiring memoir coach Kerry Kriseman who wrote Accidental First Lady On the Front Lines (and Behind the Scenes) of Local Politics., a charming memoir about her public service life as the wife of St. Pete former Mayor Rick Kriseman. In addition to working with local non-profits (Creative Clay, Southeast Guide Dogs), teaching memoir writing at Keep St. Pete Lit and OLLI at Eckerd, her new chapter is encouraging others to write their memoirs. Says Kriseman: “I help aspiring authors unlock their unique stories and find the courage to share them with the world through memoir writing.” The St. Petersburg native, and a graduate of University of South Florida (Go Bulls!) with a B.A. in Mass Communications/Broadcasting shared stories about growing up in St. Pete, anecdotes about her time as First Lady and her tips for writers who want to craft compelling narratives, overcome writers block and navigate the publishing process confidently…which she did!
