Oscar Rewind: Avatar

We’ve seen this story before, right? White boy and his western civilization come to a new place and tries to make friends with the indigenous peoples, there is a love story as bland as water, and a heavy dose of environmentalism. We could name more than one movie with this plot…James Cameron, come on! We can’t even try and make excuses that the story is simple because the technology was so new and the focus of the movie because he regurgitated tired stories again in the sequel. The first sequel in a line of many. Fingers crossed it only gets better.
