I first met Steve Schallhorn MD about 30 years ago when he was a cornea / refractive fellow at USC (University of Southern California) and I was a medical student. He has a fascinating background which includes a career as a Navy fighter pilot as well as Topgun instructor. He founded the department of defense refractive surgery program which has since grown to many locations and has treated thousands of patients.
