Christian Ortiz, forward, is making waves in the bay after scoring as a substitute in the team’s 4-1 victory over Major League’s CF Montréal. He has already appeared in four preseason matches this year since signing his first contract in March as an USL academy player. Ortiz recently turned 17 in April and has become the first Tampa Bay Rowdies player to sign a pro contract with the club having previously competed as a USL Academy signing. Ortiz is originally from White Plains, New York, but has spent much of his youth growing up in Port Richey, Florida and playing for Florida Premier FC.
