If you missed the 8/10 Florida Folk Show (FFS), enjoy this spectacular show now! Pete Gallagher, Tim Valle and the team were Facebook live and live from the Flamingo Sports Bar (1220 9th St. N. {MLK} St. Petersburg), famous as the oldest bar in Tampa Bay that has never changed its venue. Says Pete Gallagher: "We were invited to broadcast here by Flamingo owner, Dale Nichols, who purchased the building after finishing his tour in Vietnam in the 1960s.  Local historians will also be familiar with Mary Green, who has been a bartender here over 40 years, and Flamingo regular (rock legend) David Crosby! The Flamingo is world famous as a hang-out for famous author Jack Kerouac who spent his last months drinking his famous shot-and-a-wash;  the great literary giant also had his last drink at the Flamingo before lying down for the last time at his St. Petersburg home (5169 10th Ave. N.)" The special Radio St. Pete musical guests will be the  hot country folk/rock duo Marty Fouts and Grego Anderson , and singer/songwriter Jerry Toledo. We’ll be broadcasting from the famous Flamingo pool room.

On Saturday night Radio St. P:ete “Florida Folk Show” provided  the sound system for a Flamingo musical  jam starring oldtimers from the Flamingo’s years as a music venue, including Florida all-stars Sarasota Slim, Surfin’ Raccoon Mike Riley, harmonica wizard T. C. Carr, the Florida Boys and more. Several poets will also take the stage. The Friends of Jack Kerouac’s House will be available to sign the interested up, as well.
