13: Origins Of The Dog-Headed Man

Sep 13, 04:00 AM

The Cynocephali were said to be a tribe of dog-headed men known in mythology and legend from many parts of the world, including ancient Egypt, India, Greece, and China. The Cynocephalus with the head of a canid, typically that of a dog or jackal, is a widely attested mythical phenomenon existing in many different forms and contexts, with ties to Egyptian gods such as Amon-Ra and Anubis.

Join Joel as he peels back the layers of the myths that have trickled all the way down to the modern Dogman incarnations that ancient scholars have written about, including Pliny The Elder, Ctesias, and Herodotus. Apocryphal books such as the Book of Jasher lay the groundwork for where these creatures may have come from and what their interactions with ancient man may have been like. Lastly, Joel looks at the possibility of these Dogmen having a path to redemption without having pure human DNA.
