16: Old Earth: The King’s List

Oct 04, 04:00 AM

The Sumerian King’s List or Chronicle of the One Monarchy is an ancient literary composition written in Sumerian that was created to legitimize the claims to power of various city-states and kingdoms in southern Mesopotamia during the late third and early second millennium BC. What's fascinating about the King's List is that the first eight kings reigned for a total of 241,200 years from the time the kingship "descended from heaven" to when a catastrophic Flood wiped out the earth.

Follow Joel on a mysterious journey to discover who these kings might have been in the context of Old Earth, the theory that explains Biblically how the Earth might have been billions of years old. He breaks down texts from Genesis, Ezekiel, Isaiah, and many others to support the idea of there being more than one flood that consumed the earth. Finally, Joel connects the King's List to a period before Adam when angelic civilizations might have ruled Pangea.
