For the first time, researchers used positron emission topography (PET) imaging technology to detect differences in nerve impulses in the brain for autistic adults. If this imaging could be done for children, what could this mean for earlier intervention and better support for those on the spectrum? We spoke to Dr. James McPartland at the Yale School of Medicine and Dr. Dave Matuskey, Medical Director of Yale PET Center about the study and what happens next.
