"The sound sample comes from a place rich with history but it sounds very contemporary. It is basicaly a mixture of traffic noises of modern city. It provoked a thought about these modern sounds that once may be as historical and ancient to future generations as the pyramids are to us. That led to the reinterpretation of these sounds in my piece as they would come from the distant past, covered in mysterious atosphere and a pinch of nostalgia.
"I chose several separate sounds from the source file (cars, voices). I sent them to the sample module in my modular setup (AEModular), where they were further processed. Almost all the sounds were generated by modules, except short nostalgic melody played on external synth (Korg Minilogue XD). Everything was recorded live in one take (DAWless)."
