THE SPANISH MATCH AND THE PATH TO WAR Colleague Jonathan Healey. In 1623, Prince Charles and the Duke of Buckingham travel to Madrid in disguise to secure a marriage with the Spanish Infanta, hoping her dowry will solve royal financial issues.
