From exploring Jewish Life (NYC Delis, The Borscht Belt  & other photographic exhibits now on display) to holocaust education and exhibits, FHM is one of the world's most treasured museums. In addition to educational programs for schools and 1st responders, virtual holocaust survivors' interactive exhibits and more, FHM is home to the prestigious Elie Wiesel Collection. This special preview offers a glimpse into the life and legacy of Nobel Laureate and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel, and honors the extraordinary contributions of Marion Wiesel, translator, humanitarian, and fellow survivor. We Need To Talk About Antisemitism Be part of an eye-opening conversation that explores why we hesitate to talk about antisemitism and provides the insight, language, and courage needed to speak up and unite with understanding and action.
Rabbi Diana Fersko is used to having difficult conversations with members of her congregation about the issues they face—from the threat of violence to microaggressions and identity denial. In We Need to Talk About Antisemitism, she gives all of us the tools we need to understand the state of antisemitism today.
3/22 The Heebie Jeebies at CBGB's: A Secret History of Jewish Punk @ Bayboro Brewing This program examines a surprising and powerful cultural intersection: Jewish identity, punk rock, and Holocaust memory. Inspired by Steven Lee Beeber’s critically acclaimed The Heebie-Jeebies at CBGB’s: A Secret History of Jewish Punk, the evening traces how themes of alienation, resilience, satire, and survival—so often tied to the Jewish experience—found their voice in the raw, rebellious energy of punk.
Steven Lee Beeber is the author of The Heebie-Jeebies at CBGB’s: A Secret History of Jewish Punk, the editor of AWAKE! A Reader for the Sleepless, and the associate editor of the literary journal, Conduit. His work has appeared in Harpers, The New York Times, The Paris Review, Fiction, Crazyhorse, Spin, MOJO, and elsewhere. He teaches creative writing and creative nonfiction at Emerson University and GrubStreet.
4/12 2pm And The They Came For Me - Remembering The World of Anne Frank @freeFALL Theater  A Q&A follows the performance. James Still blends videotaped survivor interviews with live dramatic reenactments to tell the intertwined WWII stories of Ed Silverberg, Anne Frank’s first boyfriend mentioned in the pages of her diary, and Eva Scholoss, her step-sister.  All three went into hiding, all were betrayed. Part oral history, part dramatic action, part direct address, part remembrance; the ensemble-driven And Then They Came for Me breaks new ground and has been acclaimed by audiences and critics in world-wide productions.
