TOUR FOR TUSKS Elephant Rescue, Rehabilitation & Conservation Documentary & Talk 3/13

TOURS for TUSKS is coming to The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art  March 13 with a talk and a documentary about a rescued elephant and his keeper, their bond and why elephant rescue is so crucial due to poachers and climate change.  The event highlights the rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation of India's elephants, featuring the film "My Sweet Paro" and meet-and-greets. Host Nanette Wiser spoke with Kartick Satyanarayan, the co-founder and CEO of Wildlife SOS, a leading conservation organization dedicated to protecting India’s wildlife.
For more than 25 years, Kartick has worked to rescue animals from exploitation and provide them with lifelong care. Kartick helped lead the effort that eliminated India’s brutal “dancing bear” trade, and today much of his work focuses on rescuing and rehabilitating elephants from abusive conditions. Through specialized veterinary care and large protected habitats, Kartick and his team have rescued and rehabilitated more than 40 elephants from circuses, illegal captivity, and other forms of exploitation, giving them a chance to live with dignity and proper care. He is currently visiting St. Petersburg as part of the Tour for Tusks, sharing the story of these rescues and the ongoing work to protect elephants.
