Two hundred and forty-one deputies. Not one voted to keep him. Every ballot cast said the same thing: we don't trust the man running the search for Nancy Guthrie. The Board of Supervisors responded unanimously — invoking a state statute, demanding sworn statements, threatening removal. Supervisor Heinz called the 42-year career "fruit of a poison tree."
