Joseph Duggar Arrested — The Duggar Record Finally Speaks

Joseph Garrett Duggar, the seventh child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and a former face of TLC's 19 Kids and Counting, was arrested in March 2026 on serious charges involving a minor. According to the Bay County Sheriff's Office, Duggar allegedly harmed a young girl on multiple occasions during a family vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida in 2020. The victim, now 14 years old, came forward during a forensic interview in 2026. When her father confronted Duggar directly, he allegedly admitted to the conduct. When a Tontitown police detective was placed on that same call, Duggar allegedly admitted it again. He is currently awaiting extradition to Bay County, Florida. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

This is not the first time the Duggar name has appeared in a conversation like this one. Joseph's older brother, Josh Duggar, is currently serving a 12-and-a-half-year federal prison sentence after being convicted in 2021 on federal charges involving illegal content depicting minors. Before that conviction, it was revealed that Josh had allegedly harmed five young victims between 2002 and 2003 — four of them his own sisters. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar were aware of those incidents and, rather than contacting law enforcement, reportedly addressed the situation through church counseling. The statute of limitations expired before authorities could act.

Fox 5 Atlanta has reported that Jim Bob and Michelle were also reportedly aware of the allegations now surrounding Joseph and similarly chose to handle the matter through internal church channels rather than law enforcement. That reporting has not been independently confirmed. Neither Jim Bob nor Michelle has publicly commented on Joseph's arrest.
