This is Part 3 of a five-part series covering the Larry Millete case. This episode reconstructs the critical 48-hour window around Maya Millete's disappearance using evidence presented at the January 2023 preliminary hearing.January 7: Maya calls two law firms at 1:16 and 1:40 PM. Gets a callback at 5:48 PM. Larry sends his final spellcaster email at 4:40 PM. Surveillance captures Maya arriving home at 4:42 PM. Maya sends her last Facebook message at 8:15 PM. A neighbor's camera records nine banging sounds at 9:57 PM. Maya's phone activity ends at 1:25 AM on January 8.January 8: Larry repositions the Lexus so the rear isn't visible to cameras, then drives away at 6:45 AM with his phone off. Phone stays off until approximately 6:33 PM. Vehicle mileage records show between 444 and 692 unaccounted miles. Infotainment system records a navigation event at 3:29 PM — a route home from an unknown location. Larry tells Maya's brother he just came from work. Evidence shows he didn't go to work.January 9: Family insists Larry open the room where he said Maya had been. Room is empty. Maya's phone, Navy ID, and credit card are missing. Larry tells a neighbor he drove to Anza-Borrego Desert. Asks neighbor to clean the vehicle. Larry Millete has pleaded not guilty.
