On a quiet summer morning in July 2007, Barbara Bolick set out on a familiar trail in the Bitterroot Mountains of Montana with a friend. It was a place she knew well, a short, easy hike with nothing unusual about it. But in the span of just a few moments, Barbara disappeared no sound, no struggle, no trace left behind.

Despite extensive searches, helicopters, and tracking dogs, there has never been a single piece of evidence explaining what happened that day at Bear Creek Overlook. How does someone vanish so completely, in broad daylight, on a trail they’ve walked before?

Listen as we recount the day in question, talk about the main characters in this story and theories of what happened.
