Episode 15: Gachiakuta

This week on Anime Cvlt, Mike, Dodger and Indeimaus to dig into Gachiakuta the gritty new dark fantasy shonen from Studio Bones that became one of 2025's biggest breakout anime. Based on Kei Urana's manga (with graffiti art by Hideyoshi Andou), Gachiakuta follows Rudo, a slum kid from a floating town who's falsely accused of murder and exiled into the Pit, a hellish wasteland crawling with monstrous trash beasts. The crew breaks down the world-building, the unhinged graffiti-infused art style, the revenge plot, the Givers and their Vital Instruments, and whether Bones has another My Hero Academia-sized hit on their hands.
