STORYTIME with Janet Keeler: Emily Young, YA Author @Tombolo 8/18

In this episode of STORYTIME with Janet Keeler, St. Petersburg author Emily Young talks about her debut novel, “A (Dead) Thing Like Me.” The YA paranormal story features a teenage ghost named Hot Dog in love with life and bound to the house of a grieving artist. Emily tells us about the character’s genesis and also why she uses the pen name E.G. Young. Emily reads an excerpt from the book that’s already receiving good early reviews from Goodreads and Kirkus. The book comes out on Tuesday, Aug. 18 and will be launched at an event at Tombolo Books in St. Petersburg.   Emily has an undergraduate degree in journalism from University of South Florida, St. Petersburg campus, and a master’s of fine arts in writing for children and young adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts.
