Did Lindsay Clancy Time Her Husband's Errand to the Minute?

The prosecution's sharpest piece of evidence in the Lindsay Clancy trial isn't forensic — it's a mapping app. Prosecutors allege she checked Apple Maps to estimate her husband's drive time, sent him to pick up dinner, and used that fifty-four-minute window. Her fitness tracker shows her climbing three flights of stairs right after calling him.

Can someone be in the grip of psychosis and still calculate a window down to the minute?

That's the question at the center of the trial starting in days. Lindsay Clancy's defense says she was prescribed nine medications, eight in a three-week span, and was experiencing command hallucinations — a voice demanding she do what she did. Her lawyer offered to admit she was responsible for all three deaths if the judge would bifurcate the trial into guilt and sanity. The judge said no. He also ruled that other mothers who have lived through postpartum psychosis cannot testify about their experiences — only expert psychiatrists can speak to the condition.

Jennifer Coffindaffer, retired FBI Special Agent, joins Tony and Robin for a conversation that goes straight at the collision point. She addresses whether the Apple Maps evidence actually proves what the prosecution says it proves, what it means for the defense that the jury hears everything at once, and whether the doctors who prescribed nine medications in a rapid cycle will be judged alongside their patient.

Patrick Clancy — who lost all three of his children — is testifying for the defense. He told the public he wasn't married to a monster. He sued her medical providers. That testimony may be the most powerful moment in the trial.
