Interview: Aaron Ryan ~ Two Near Death Experiences, Survival Miracles!!

What happens when a lifelong storyteller refuses to stop creating—even when technology, doubt, and unexpected challenges threaten to change the landscape?

For author, voice actor, musician, entrepreneur, and father Aaron Ryan, the answer is simple: keep creating, keep laughing, and keep moving forward.

Aaron's story is a fascinating blend of science fiction, faith, creativity, artificial intelligence, family, and near-death experiences. From writing his first fictional book as a seven-year-old to building an extensive catalog of novels, from working as a professional voice actor to surviving two frightening brushes with death, his life has repeatedly brought him back to the same question:

What are we here to create, and what happens when we take that calling seriously?

The Seven-Year-Old Who Wanted to Write Books

Aaron traces his writing life back to second grade. He was given a creative assignment by his teacher, Mrs. Walker, to write a fictional book.
The result was a little story called The Electric Boy.
It may have been a simple novella written by a seven-year-old, but something important happened through that assignment.
Aaron discovered that he loved telling stories.

Creativity as a Spiritual Calling

This idea runs through much of Aaron's philosophy.
He believes that creativity is a gift from God.
That belief profoundly influences how he thinks about authorship.
To create something original is to participate in something larger than yourself.

The $6 Swim That Almost Cost Aaron His Life

The second story happened when Aaron was a teenager in Mazatlán, Mexico.
A friend dared him to dive from a rock and swim out into the Pacific Ocean.
The prize?
20,000 pesos—which Aaron estimates was around six dollars at the time.
There was a jellyfish warning.
Aaron went anyway.
