As a ghost-tour guide, she learned very quickly how powerful suggestion could be. Tell people a hallway is haunted, and suddenly every sound matters. Mention that visitors sometimes feel something touch them, and before long someone probably will.

So at one particular stop, she decided not to tell anyone what had supposedly happened there. She gave the history first. She watched. She waited. And every once in a while, before hearing a single paranormal story, someone would suddenly turn around and reach for the back of their head.

For months, she searched for ordinary explanations. Then one night, she went back into the alley alone.

After that, skepticism became a little harder.
