Did Keffe D Just Refuse To Apologize For Tupac?!

In a 2017 recording played for the jury on Day 6 of the Tupac Shakur murder trial, Duane "Keffe D" Davis described the shooting — the gun, his nephew, the Cadillac, Combs. Then the interviewer asked him a question that exposed the crack in his defense.

The recording from the Death Row Chronicles production captured Davis discussing his relationship with Sean Combs, claiming Combs wanted Suge Knight dealt with and then stopped returning calls after the shooting. Davis said Combs was trying to "wash his hands" of them. The defense tried to block the recording over references to other crimes. The judge allowed it — the fiction defense weakens each time the jury hears another version of Davis telling the story he now claims was invented for money.

Filmmaker Michael Dorsey took the stand as the prosecution's witness, testifying about his phone recording of the interview and his decision to contact Las Vegas police after the documentary aired. His recording was potentially broader than the official production version. Combs has denied involvement and has never been charged.
