Our Community-Meet Hilda Solis, Candidate for US Congress, 38th District

Meet Hilda Solis, a Candidate for the US House of Representatives 38th District (which overlaps Los Angeles and Orange Counties). And hear her amazing journey into politics. From La Puente (where she was born) to  the Rio Hondo Community College Board of Trustees in 1985, the California Assembly in 1992, and the California State Senate in 1994 (where she was the first Hispanic woman to serve in that body). Re-elected there in 1998.  After which she was elected to Congress for four consecutive terms.  Then becoming US Labor Secretary under President Obama (as the first Latina to lead one of the Federal Government's Executive Departments).  And then back to Southern California as she won a seat on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors (where she currently serves).
