Caleb Flynn Court Coverage Day 2: Velvman Wrote Warrants for WHAT Accounts?!

Day 2 testimony from Tipp City Police Officer Luke Velvman showed how far investigators reached into electronic accounts after Ashley Flynn's death. Velvman testified that he prepared warrants involving Caleb Flynn, Ashley Flynn, and Alleigha Botner, including requests tied to Venmo, Amazon, Gmail, and social media. 

Velvman said he drafted a Venmo search warrant for Botner, whom testimony identified as someone Caleb Flynn was involved with when Ashley died. He also testified that investigators searched Botner's social-media information. That placed her electronic accounts directly inside the evidence-gathering process described to the jury. 

Another warrant went to Amazon for records connected to the Blink camera system. Velvman also wrote a search warrant for Caleb Flynn's Gmail account. Those requests document where investigators went looking for digital records after the physical crime-scene work was underway. 

On cross-examination, Velvman confirmed that investigators sought devices and electronic-account information connected to all three people: Caleb, Ashley, and Botner. The defense's questioning made the scope of those searches part of the record without establishing what any particular account ultimately showed. 

Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty to all charges tied to the death of his wife, Ashley Flynn. Prosecutors allege he killed Ashley and staged the scene to look like a home invasion. The defense says an intruder killed Ashley and police moved too quickly toward Caleb as their suspect. 

That makes Velvman's testimony an important foundation for whatever digital evidence comes next. Jurors now know police sought records from a payment service, an email provider, a camera-system provider, and social media. The legal paperwork explains how investigators got access. The substance of those records, and whether they support or undercut either side's theory, has to come from the evidence itself.
