In September 2014, Aaron Hedges and two friends set out into Montana’s rugged Crazy Mountains for a five-day elk hunting trip. But after a series of frustrating setbacks, Aaron ventures off alone to retrieve his camping equipment and never returns. As the days pass and a brutal snowstorm sweeps through the mountains, a massive search and rescue operation uncovers a trail of abandoned belongings but no sign of the missing hunter. In Part 1, we retrace Aaron’s final known movements, the questionable actions by his companions, and the desperate search that would leave investigators with more questions than answers.
