Caleb Flynn led worship at two churches for eleven years. He appeared on American Idol Season 12 and told producers on camera that he loved his wife Ashley more than anything. He was the spiritual leader his congregation leaned on.

Prosecutors in Miami County, Ohio, allege the man behind that image was maintaining an affair, sending messages about killing Ashley, and ultimately shooting her to death in their Tipp City home while staging the scene as a home invasion. His defense attorney conceded the affair in the trial's first hour.
