Ugandan forces to leave South Sudan by mid-October
The South Sudan army, the SPLA has announced that Ugandan troops will be leaving South Sudan by mid-October.
The Ugandan forces, the UPDF, entered South Sudan in December 2013 at the request of the government to support the national army against opposition forces.
Army spokesperson Colonel Phillip Aguer confirmed to Radio Miraya that the foreign forces will be leaving as part of the implementation of the recently signed peace agreement which calls for the withdrawal of all foreign forces involved in the conflict.
