Three @UNMISS peacekeepers have left on a Mountain climbing expedition of Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa’s Highest Mountain also known as “everyman’s Everest.”
Planting a flag on the peak of the mountain at a height of 19,340 feet, becoming the first all-male peacekeepers team to scale Mount Kilimanjaro would be a bonus, but this is not the ultimate goal for the trio.
Dipinder Virk, the team leader says their climb is symbolic of the efforts of the United Nations to bring Peace and stability in Africa.
“We think of no borders, we are here for peace and as a continent, if peace is to come to South Sudan, it must come from the entire efforts of the people on the African continent.”
