Women must instill a culture of Peace in their children

The Spokesperson of the South Sudan Women Peace Initiative, a local women’s advocacy group says women of South Sudan must start to inculcate a culture of peace in their children starting right at home.

Lilli Akol, spoke with Radio Miraya, at a Peace rally held in Hai Referendum on Saturday, stressing the that Women’s participation in the prevention and resolution of conflicts is critical to building sustainable peace.

UN Security Council Resolution 1325, stresses the importance of women’s equal participation in all efforts for the maintenance and promotion of peace and security.

In line with this resolution, Lilli Akol asked the women to be vigilant and dissuade their husbands from engaging in actions that breed violence.
