Bineta Diop: Guns must fall silent to give women the dignity they deserve

The need for Peace, security, justice and accountability are key messages the women of South Sudan have delivered to Bineta Diop, AU Special Envoy on Women, Peace and Security.

Bineta Diop, currently on a four – day trip to South Sudan, met with the Minister of Gender and social welfare and also spoke to civil society activists in the country.

Addressing a news conference on Wednesday, Madam Bineta Diop, said; “It’s time to silence the guns, make sure that peace is restored, but particularly restore the dignity of the women of South Sudan.”
