Spike in malnutrition cases at Al-Sabbah children’s hospital in Juba

The number of malnutrition cases under treatment at the Al-Sabbah children’s hospital in Juba has more than doubled over the past three months.

Lui Alex, a nutritionist at the hospital says the number of children admitted has gone up from 82 from the period of October to December to 182 from January to March.

He says the majority of the patients are cases of Marasmus, Kwashiorkor and Edema - or swelling of the stomach intestines. Radio Miraya spoke with two mothers who were attending to their sick children.
