Government says the new opposition group formed by the former SPLA chief of Staff Gen. Paul Malong Awan, could slow down the revitalization of the agreement to resolve the conflict in the country.
Speaking to the press this afternoon in Juba, Presidential Press secretary Ateny Wek Ateny said; "As TGONU is going for the third phase for the HLRF, the people’s expectation is to see peace return to south Sudan."
"Therefore any news of new rebellion is an attempt to slow down the resolve to peacefully resolve the conflict in south Sudan” - Ateny Wek Ateny tells News Conference in Juba," he added.
