Liwolo County Commissioner appeals for UNMISS support to facilitate return of his people

A team from the United Nations Mission in South Sudan - UNMISS and the Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring Mechanism – CTSAMM have concluded a three-day patrol of Liyolo county in Yei River state.

Liwolo County, a strategic gateway to Morobo and Yei towns is deserted and a few people that have returned from refugee camps have sought shelter at a military barracks located in Bori Payam.

The head of the SPLA army barracks in Bori, Captain Abraham Akol, told the visiting UNMISS and CSTAMM teams that they have played their role to protect the civil population and their property from armed robbers and armed groups operating in the area.

Liwolo county commissioner, Victor Wera, told Public Information assistant, Alahayi Nemaya, that he wants the UN Mission in the country to facilitate the return of his people back home.
