SRSG calls for protection of Journalists as country prepares to implement Peace accord

The Special Representative of the secretary General, David Shearer, has emphasized the need to hold those who either harm or mistreat journalists to account.

In his message to mark the International day to end impunity for crimes committed against journalists, David Shearer, who is also head of the UN mission in South Sudan said action must be taken to end the culture of impunity.

He said this is especially important as South Sudan enters a new phase in the implementation of the revitalized agreement on the resolution of the conflict.
