MSF scaling heights to Treat and contain Khalazar in South Sudan

Southern Sudan is one of the areas in eastern Africa most affected by visceral leishmaniasis kala-azar.

Kala azar is a deadly disease caused by a parasite and transmitted through the bite of sand flies.

Without prompt appropriate treatment, as many as 95% of kala-azar patients die.

Medicines San Frontiers - MSF runs Kalazar treatment centers in its projects in Lankien, Pieri in Greater upper Nile region.
