UNMISS supports formation of Civil Society forum in Bentiu

The Civil affairs division of the UN mission in South Sudan is facilitating the re-organisation of the civil society groups In Northern Liech state.

About 50 civil society organization representatives met on Thursday to discuss the formation of a civil society forum.

The forum will provide a platform to discuss pertinent issues in the state and act as agents of early warning and information dissemination.

UNMISS civil affairs team leader in Bentiu, Paul Ebikwo, said it is important to revive civil society activities in Northern Liech state, because of the important role they play in public policy and management.
