15,000 children in South Sudan without parents or missing, five years after outbreak of fighting

Some fifteen thousand children are still missing or separated from their parents, five years after the conflict first broke out in South Sudan. United Nations Children’s agency - UNICEF is working with partners through its family tracing unit to track down the children’s parents or caregivers.
Communications Officer Tim Irwin says UNICEF has successfully reunited six thousand (6,000) children with their parents or caregivers since 2013.
The United Nations Children agency has reported that more than four million people have been uprooted by the fighting, the majority are children.
