Civil society activists have agreed to establish an East African civil society conflict early warning system with CEPO as the host in South Sudan.

This is one of the recommendations from a two day East African community civil society solidarity meeting which was held in Juba this week.

Grace John Kenyi, Governance Manager for community Empowerment for Progress Organization – CEPO, says the system will help the civil society detect early signs of violence in the region and prevent possible outbreak and escalation of the violence.

She outlines the benefits of operating the conflict early warning system from South Sudan.
