Tens of thousands of school children are set to benefit from a joint education program designed to improve access to quality learning opportunities.
The program supported by the UN children’s agency UNICEF and the UN World Food Program will provide daily meals to seventy-five thousand (75,000) school children and equip learners with educational supplies and psychosocial support.
The ‘education in emergencies program’ is the largest of its kind in South Sudan and was made possible through a contribution of 24.4 million Euros from the European Union.
The partnership runs until January 2021 and will be rolled out in 150 schools across the four former states of Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Western Bahr el Ghazal, Warrap and Eastern Equatoria.
UNICEF Communications Specialist, Helene Sandhu Ryeng spoke to Sworo Charles Elisha in this interview.
