All eyes are on The Vatican City where the Catholic Church will be hosting a spiritual retreat aimed at confidence-building between the South Sudan warring parties.

President Salva Kiir leaves Juba Tuesday, while SPLM-IO leader Dr. Riek Machar, is expected to travel from Khartoum.

The 2-day retreat which starts Wednesday will also be attended by the leader of the Opposition Alliance, the Former Detainees, church leaders and other stakeholders - who hold a major role in the success of the revitalized peace agreement.

Presidential spokesperson, Ateny Wek Ateny describes the retreat as a ‘unique opportunity’ for South Sudan.
