South Sudan women peg high hopes on Vancouver women’s conference

The women of South Sudan are hopeful that an ongoing gender conference in Vancouver, Canada will close the gap of discrimination and address pressing issues affecting women and girls in South Sudan and the rest of the world.

 

More than 6,000 world leaders, influencers, advocates, academics, activists, and journalists are attending the ‘Women’s Deliver’ conference, the world’s largest conference on gender equality and the health, rights, and wellbeing of girls and women. 

 

Executive Director of the Voice for Change organization, Dorothy Drabuga says the three-day meeting serves as an opportunity to set in motion concrete steps to protect the rights of women and girls.

 

She hopes other issues that block women from girls from achieving their full potential will also feature for discussion.
