President Salva Kiir and opposition leader Riek Machar are expected to meet in Uganda today. The two Principals will meet in the presence of the Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and the head of Sudan Sovereign Council Abdel Fattah El-Burhan, who are both co-guarantors of the 2018 peace deal.
The meeting is aimed at discussing the outstanding issues in the extended pre-transitional period which expires next Tuesday. President Museveni’s Senior Presidential Press Secretary Mr. Don Wanyama confirms to Radio Miraya that the meeting will take place this morning at State House Entebbe.

This would be the third face-to-face meeting between the two principals since the signing of the revitalized peace agreement in September 2018.
