To combat everyone’s continuing sense of malaise after the disappointing conclusion to the Star Wars saga, Ryan offers to find a film that can pull everyone from the brink.
It’s been almost a month since we witnessed the conclusion of the Star Wars saga, but to be honest, none of us at the store have quite gotten over just how frustrating and disappointing it was. Despite Ryan increasing the amount of Rise of Skywalker Support Group meetings, the general sense of malaise that the movie created continues to run rampant.
Thankfully, Ryan isn’t out of ideas yet! Using the power of C.H.A.D., our trusty A.I. and former human friend, Ryan thinks he may have found the perfect antidote to our Episode IX depression, a forgotten Disney classic from 1979 that just so happens to follow on the heels of the original Star Wars itself. Surely, a film released during the height of Star Wars mania and distributed during Disney’s “Dark Ages” will pull us from the brink, right?! Right…?
I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me as we delve deeper into bad movie territory are fellow cinephiles Ryan Caldwell and Michael Althouse.
Listen as we discuss Disney’s botched attempt to make their own Star Wars; we pine for a Vincent and Old Bob spinoff; and finally, we try to understand the shifting tones of a Disney film that features killer robots and Hell.
