She said there is a need for women around the world, to be accorded the same rights and dignity as their male counterparts.
She disclosed that gender based violence remains a serious issue in South Sudan.
The UNFPA Gender Analyst says firm laws are urgently needed to protect women and girls in South Sudan.
She was speaking to Miraya's Sebit William on the Miraya Breakfast Show as the station celebrates Women's week in commemoration of Women's Day celebrated annually on March 8.
