Ministry of Health to deploy Emergency team to flood ridden Bor

The National Ministry of Health is deploying a team to Bor town in Jonglei state to meet the medical needs of thousands of people displaced by flooding. 

There has been a rise in cases of malaria, diarrheal diseases and there are fears of the outbreak of other waterborne diseases due the high levels of water.  The Director for Emergency Preparedness and Response Dr Mathew Tut says an estimated 36,000 people displaced by the flooding are in need of assistance.  

Dr Tut says a medical team is expected will travel to Bor town this week and spend at least two weeks on ground responding to the medical needs.
