Guterres: Peace agreement has special meaning for the people of Darfur

The United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has called for sustained commitment to the peace agreement which was signed between the Sudanese government and the main rebel groups. Guterres says the agreement should translate into tangible improvement of people’s lives in Darfur.  Addressing the occasion through a video conference, the United Nations Secretary General called on the SPLM – North led by Abdul Azziz Al-Hilu and Sudan Liberation Movement led by Abdual Wahid Mahammad Al Nur to join the peace process.
