Cody and Ja-nah return seeking the store’s help in settling a bet involving nudity and its place (or lack thereof) in PG rated films. An 80s box office bomb starring Tanya Roberts may hold the key to resolving the conflict...
If there’s one thing we strive above all else to do at Apocalypse Video, it’s to serve the Wasteland in all of it's cinematic needs, be it motion picture education, VCR head cleaning, or in some instances, the settling of bets. And it’s with that latter service in mind that we come to the problem presented today by former employee of the store, Cody, and his ptera-person wife, Ja-nah. It appears Ja-nah, who admittedly has only seen about five movies in her lifetime, is under the impression that nudity is NOT allowed in a PG rated film. Cody disagrees...and so do the 1980s.
I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me as we talk about a film that’s the textbook definition of “white savior” are fellow cinephiles Ryan, Mike, and special guests returning from the Wasteland, Cody and Ja-nah.
Listen as we discuss how a film that features a monkey throwing a grenade may somehow be the most boring movie we’ve watched to date; Sheena pays “homage” to Chariots of Fire with its musical score; and finally, we wonder how much of the budget was earmarked for wrongful deaths caused by animal maulings.
