The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) has announced a major road rehabilitation project to repair about 3,200 kilometers of roads across the country. 

UN Special Representative and Head of UNMISS, David Shearer in a press conference today announced that the project will be undertaken during the dry season by seven engineering contingents from Bangladesh, China, Korea, Thailand, India, and Pakistan. 

In a separate development, the Juba Protection of Civilian site has been re-designated as an IDP camp. 

The transition of the Juba site follows a similar conversion of the two Protection of Civilian sites in Wau and Bor into IDP camps under the control of the national government.
