Government urged to investigate attack on WFP convoy in Jonglei

The acting UN Humanitarian Coordinator has called on authorities in Jonglei to investigate a recent attack on a humanitarian convoy between Gadiang and Yuai.

Three people were killed when unknown armed men attacked a convoy of 44 trucks carrying WFP food assistance last week.

Acting UN Humanitarian Coordinator and UNHCR Representative in South Sudan, Arafat Jamal condemned the attack and called for the perpetrators to be held accountable.

Meanwhile, acting WFP Country Director, Adeyinka Badejo, called for unhindered access for humanitarians who work to save lives.
